Alton Towers has confirmed that one of its most popular rides has temporarily closed.
The Nemesis rollercoaster is undergoing repairs and has been closed until further notice.
It is the second ride to have closed this week, after the Wicker Man was also shut to thrill-seekers on Tuesday, June 25.
The wooden rollercoaster opened in September last year.
A spokesperson for Alton Towers Resort said: "Wicker Man and Nemesis are both undergoing maintenance and are currently unavailable.
"We're working very hard to get both rides working again soon, we apologise for any inconvenience caused as we know how popular these two rides are.
"We hope to get Nemesis open again as soon as possible."
A spokesperson for Alton Towers said that it is not uncommon for rides to be closed for maintenance and that the majority of attractions are still open, Derbyshire Live reports.
It is understood that refunds and discounts are not being offered as a result of the two closed rides.
Nemesis is one of the resort's older attractions having finished construction in 1994, the ride takes the shape of a giant alien monster.
The theme park has been asked for further information on the reasons behind the closures and estimated reopening times.
It comes after the owner of Lego won a massive bid to take over Alton Towers.
Merlin Entertainment accepted a bid from Kirkbi - the investment vehicle of Lego's founding family.
