Alternative Premier League table that still puts Tottenham above Arsenal as Chelsea suffer

It was a dramatic final day in the Premier League yesterday as Manchester City were crowned champions in sensational fashion as they overcame a two-goal deficit in less than 10 minutes to defeat Aston Villa as Liverpool were left heartbroken. Jurgen Klopp's side did their bit by defeating Wolves 3-1 but City turned their result around to take the title.

City had been dominant all season - finishing the campaign with 93 points as they topped the table for over 150 days, whilst Liverpool did well to push them until the final day of the season.

On the other end of the table, Leeds United were able to avoid the drop as Jack Harrison scored a 94th minute goal to secure their place in the Premier League next season, with Burnley being relegated for the first time since 2015.

However, how would the table have looked if it was based on the aggregate result from both games? Odds-Comparison.com have compiled every result from the 2021/22 season to create an aggregate Premier League table, and it makes for interesting reading.

Based on the results if the two results from same teams were put into one, cup kings Liverpool would indeed be crowned Premier League Champions as Man City’s aggregate defeats to Crystal Palace and Spurs would have cost them the title.

Arsenal would have beaten Chelsea to a top four finish along with Spurs despite drawing 4-4 with them on aggregate, with the Blues finishing fifth.

Manchester United’s poor season would have been even worse based on aggregate results - with big defeats including 9-0 to Liverpool and 6-1 to Man City leaving them finishing below Brentford!

And at the bottom of the table, Southampton would have joined Watford and Norwich in relegation after only managing 4 aggregate victories all season.
