The UK’s first ever festival dedicated to “alternative hip-hop and rock” will land in south London this summer.

Playboi Carti, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Yachty and Architects are among the biggest names set for ALT+LDN, which is due to take over Clapham Common on the bank holiday Monday, August 30.

The Kid Laroi, Princess Nokia, Ski Mask The Slump God, Smokepurpp, Mario Judah and more will also make an appearance. The full line-up so far is below.

Ticket release dates will be announced soon. Head here to sign up for more info.

ALT+LDN will come the day after another new festival arrives in the park — Yam Carnival, set for August 28, which will feature the likes of Davido, Kehlani and NSG.

And it’s the latest addition to what looks set to be a busy festival summer, as the industry makes up for lost time after the wave of cancellations in 2020. The likes of Field Day, All Points East, Mighty Hoopla, We Are FSTVL and others have all confirmed plans for later this year.

However, uncertainty still remains over the viability of some festivals without the aid of a government-backed insurance scheme. Earlier this month, Boomtown, the multi-day festival that usually welcomes 66,000 people to its Winchester site, cancelled its 2021 plans over a lack of state support.
