Nov. 13--The list of Bears receivers who have recorded three consecutive 100-yard outings is short. Jeff Graham accomplished the feat in 1995 and Harlon Hill did it in 1956. And now, Alshon Jeffery is in the middle of the hottest streak of his career, looking to set a new franchise record with his fourth straight 100-yard game against the Rams on Sunday in St. Louis.
That is, of course, if Jeffery plays at all. Officially, the Bears are listing their top receiver as questionable for Sunday's game, uncertain if a groin injury will heal enough to get him on the field.
Jeffery, who suffered the injury Wednesday afternoon, returned to practice Friday at Halas Hall as a limited participant.
"He had a good practice," Bears coach John Fox asserted.
Jeffery missed the entire preseason with a calf strain, then missed four games earlier this season with a hamstring problem. All three of his injuries this season have occurred during practices.
"Just going real hard in practice, I guess," Jeffery said when asked how the latest setback occurred. "But, I mean, I'm fine. I'll be all right."
The Bears will hold a brisk walk-through workout Saturday in Lake Forest before departing for St. Louis. Fox will keep tabs on Jeffery's movement during that session to measure his readiness.
"It hasn't restricted my movements too much," Jeffery said. "Just keep getting treatment and just getting better, see how I feel."
Added Fox: "I have an idea of what he's capable of. You look at it and you evaluate it like we do every day. And if the medical people think he's healthy to go, (he'll) go."
Over the past three games, Jeffery has totaled 28 catches, 416 yards and two touchdowns.
