Alshon Jeffery misses Bears practice with hamstring strain

Alshon Jeffery's pursuit of durability has hit an early snag.

Jeffery missed practice Thursday with a hamstring strain, coach John Fox said.

He suffered the injury Wednesday, seven days after general manager Ryan Pace said Jeffery needs to stay healthy coming off a year in which he missed seven games because of leg muscle injuries.

Fox downplayed Jeffery's latest strain, calling it mild. He was asked how the Bears might make sure this injury doesn't linger as Jeffery's calf strain did last season.

"We get concerned about everybody, whether they're injured or not practicing," Fox said. "But on the other hand, we don't get too concerned. We've got guys to take their place. It's part of camp."
