'Already looking for excuses' - Man United fans react as Ousmane Dembele injured in Barcelona win

Manchester United supporters have been reacting to Ousmane Dembele's injury after Frenchman was forced off in Barcelona's victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Spanish giants secured a 1-0 victory away at Girona thanks to Pedri's second-half goal, with the Catalan outfit stretching their lead at the top of the La Liga table to six points. While the win on Saturday was important for Xavi's side, the injury Dembele sustained came as a major blow.

Dembele had to be substituted in the first half and gingerly limped off the field grabbing his leg. The 25-year-old is set to be sidelined for two to three weeks and could miss the Europa League play-off tie with Manchester United, as per Marca.

The France international has been in good form for Barcelona so far this season, with the attacker playing a vital role for Xavi's side. He has registered five goals and five assists in the league this term and is currently the club's second-top goalscorer behind Robert Lewandowski.

Speaking after the win over Girona, Xavi told reporters: "Dembele is a difference-maker. I think he's injured, and it's a real shame. He felt something in the quadricep."

Here's how some United fans reacted to Dembele's injury on social media...

United face Barcelona in the first-leg of their Europa League play-off tie on February 16, before welcoming the Spanish side to Old Trafford for the second-leg on February 23.

Erik ten Hag's side will have to get through their play-off encounter if they wish to reach the knockout stages of the competition, with the Reds having finished second in their respective group.
