'Already buzzing' - Bolton Wanderers fans react to Wigan Athletic Carabao Cup tie

Bolton Wanderers will take on Wigan Athletic in the second round of the Carabao Cup in a local derby.

Wanderers will make the short trip to the DW Stadium to take on the Latics in the week commencing Mondya, August 23.

A date and kick-off time for the encounter is yet to be confirmed.

Ian Evatt's side booked their place in the draw after beating Championship outfit Barnsley 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Leam Richardson's team simialrly overcame Championship opposition on penalties, beating Hull City 8-7 on spot kicks after a 1-1 draw at the KCOM Stadium.

And reacting on Twitter to the draw, Wanderers fans are excited about renewing acquaintances with the Latics.

Jack Gibbs wrote: "Give Wigan the away end, we’ll have the rest."

"Sky won’t pick the game for coverage, but they’re missing out. Bring it on! Can’t wait."
