Alphonso Davies assist: Watch Bayern star's stunning run during Barcelona Champions League thrashing

Alphonso Davies lit up the Estadio da Luz with an exquisite solo run to provide a superb assist for Joshua Kimmich in Bayern Munich's 8-2 Champions League drubbing of Barcelona.

The runaway German champions have shown their clinical nature on numerous occasions throughout this year's European tournament, defeating Tottenham 7-2 in the group stages, before breezing past Chelsea 7-1 on aggregate to progress to the quarter-finals.

And they were at it again on Friday as they cruised into the the semi-finals, scoring four in a totally dominant first half.

However, following the break, Luis Suarez pulled one back to make the score 4-2 and ensure the next goal would be pivotal.

Up stepped Davies, who received the ball facing his own goal marginally inside the Barcelona half. He then turned, beat two men and dazzled his way past Nelson Semedo, before finding the perfect cross for Kimmich to slot home.

It was a moment of genius worthy of such an occasion, and Davies' speed and attacking flair were on full display.

At just 19 years old, the Canadian is quickly cementing his place as one of the world's best in his position, having now claimed 10 assists in 44 appearances this season.

With late goals from Robert Lewandowski and Philippe Coutinho ensuring a thumping 8-2 victory, Bayern are moving closer to a first Champions League win since 2013.

And in the form the German giants are in, you'd be brave to bet against them.
