Edinburgh residents have been left stunned after an ALPACA was spotted cruising with its head hanging out a car window.
The cheeky animal has had locals in stitches after it was seen standing in the boot of a black Vauxhall Zafira with its head poking out the back window in the capital on Friday afternoon.
In the brilliant pictures taken by an eye-witness, a man wearing a green top can be seen driving the vehicle while the alpaca enjoys the ride.
Posting on the Facebook site 'Scotland from the Roadside', the shocked onlooker suggested the animal was doing a tour of the capital.
Sending two pictures into the page, he wrote in the caption: "Alpaca from the roadside on a tour of Edinburgh."
As expected comments quickly flooded in, with social media users howling at the brazen alpaca's cheeky face.
One person said: "Now that's something you don't see every day."
Another said: "Not your everyday spot," while a third added: Why in earth???"
Some jealous locals were green with envy, with one saying: "I wanna take a road trip with an alpaca!!!"
And another tagged her partner saying: "See, you can fit an alpaca in a car...."
Meanwhile other Facebook users were simply unable to let a picture of an alpaca cruising through the city pass without whipping out the patter.
One witty person said: "Alpaca wee bag fur ma hoalidays."
While another added: "Causally taking the alpaca shopping...'alapaca your shopping for you sir'".
A third simply joked: "It must be payday."
However, a final person was more concerned about the mess that could be made in the boot during the road trip.
He said: "I don't want to think about cleaning out the trunk if that drive goes on long enough for the alpaca to need to go potty..."
