Who trained, who didn't and which Chelsea youngsters joined in ahead of Slavia Prague clash

Chelsea took to the pitches at Cobham for their final training session before flying out to Prague on Wednesday.

The Blues have a pretty full squad for an intense part of the season with little to worry about in the way of injuries, and they received a boost in defence.

The first two players out are names that some fans might not recognise however. Richard Nartey and Ruben Sammut, a defender and midfielder from the academy squad took to the pitches first

They had quite the wait for the first team to join them as they passed the ball between themselves across two pitches, nudging back and forth often enough to stave off the slight cold the blustery conditions brought

Eden Hazard explains why he broke the promise he made in 2018 against West Ham

They were first joined by coaching staff who checked each cone was in the right place before the imposing stature of Marcin Bulka made his way out alone.

Maurizio Sarri then made his way out with one hand in his insulated jacket, the other swinging by his side to project a very confident, Godfather feel as he was joined by a joking Gianfranco Zola and other members of the coaching staff.

Marcos Alonso followed, back in training after missing out of the squads for both Brighton and West Ham, with a Spanish contingent consisting of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Azpilicueta went out of his way to shake the hands of both Nartey and Sammut and to bring them across ready for the Blues' lengthy rondo.

Davide Zappocosta was deep in conversation with Ross Barkley, while Willy Caballero appeared to be the life of the training session and came out alongside Pedro. Callum Hudson-Odoi will have the opportunity to start his third successive match, while Antonio Rudiger was also present.

There looked to be no reason to worry about Ruben Loftus-Cheek's persistent back issue as he trained despite the Europa League match being on Thursday and he walked alongside N'Golo Kante, Olivier Giroud and Andreas Christensen.

Gonzalo Higuain, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Eden Hazard all trundled out individually. While, as seems tradition, the Brazilian cohort were last to appear as David Luiz jogged to the pitches to be followed by Willian and Brazilian-born Emerson Palmieri.

Danny Drinkwater who has been charged with drink-driving, did not train however.
