'Almost perfect' - Gary Neville shares his dream conclusion to Man City and Liverpool FC title race

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has revealed how he would like to see the final day of the Premier League season pan out.

Manchester City travel to Brighton knowing a 14th consecutive victory will see Pep Guardiola’s side become the first side to successfully defend their Premier League title for a decade, while Liverpool are eyeing their first crown in 29 years.

If City fail to win at Brighton, Liverpool can leapfrog them in the table to secure top spot and the title, which sets up a dramatic conclusion to one of the closest title races we have seen in a while.

With City and Liverpool going head-to-head, it has not been a comfortable watch for United legend Neville but he has now shared what he wants to see take place this afternoon.

“My perfect scenario today is that Brighton score to make it 1-0 with about five minutes to go and Liverpool are winning 1-0 at the time, then somebody from Wolves scores with two minutes to go!

“That would almost be perfect.”

If that was to occur, Liverpool would miss out on the title in the most heartbreaking fashion but it would give City fans a moment to remember alongside Sergio Aguero’s famous moment from 2012.
