Almost half of Irish women would rather style their hair than put on makeup in the morning, a new survey has claimed.
A survey of 1,252 women carried out by hairdressers Peter Mark found that 46% of us prefer to groom our locks than apply makeup but 56% said they struggle to style their hair.
The salon experts conducted the research to coincide with the launch of the DAFNI Allure, the world's first cordless straightening brush.
Image-conscious respondents take their time to perfect their hairdo, with 84% saying they take 30 minutes to blow-dry their hair and 16% willing to devote more than 45 minutes.
Almost one-fifth (19%) of resourceful women carry a styling tool in their handbag for touch-ups and 16% store a styling tool in work.
And even when on the move, Irish ladies always make sure they looks their best, with 33% using their commuting time to their hair and makeup.
Almost a fifth (17%) say they have styled their hair at their desk while 35% have done their hair in the car.

Some 9% have made the train their own personal salon and 10% have styled their hair at the airport.
And a whopping 83% of women admit to feeling embarrassed if they were called into a work meeting or ran into someone they know without their hair done.
