Almost 70 people were in Scottish hospitals at midnight for coronavirus

The Scottish Government today said that 1987 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.

It comes as 2363 patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

The figures show less than five people in Lanarkshire were in intensive care at midnight, with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.

And 68 people were in hospital across the county at midnight (confirmed).

The Scottish test numbers for June 1 show a total of 115,259 in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date.

Of these:

■ 99,841 tests were confirmed negative

■ 15,418 tests were positive

■ 2363 patients who tested positive have died

■ 20 patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 were in intensive care last night, with another 7 with suspected COVID-19

■ There were 735 people in Scottish hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 (including those in intensive care).
