Almost 50 roads in Hanham could be given a 20mph limit

There are plans to introduce a 20mph speed limit on almost 50 roads in Hanham.

South Gloucestershire Council is currently consulting on the scheme which includes part of Hanham Road and the high street.

It follows a resolution made by the council in 2013 to ensure roads near schools within the district are covered by the reduced speed limit.

And now Local Transport Plan (LTP) funding has been secured to introduce a 20mph speed limit scheme in the vicinity of schools in Hanham.

Hanham High Street (Google Maps)

It includes roads around Christ Church Hanham C of E Primary School, Hanham Abbots Junior School, Hanham Woods Academy and Samuel White’s Infant school.

All the roads being consulted on currently have a 30mph speed limit.

Anyone interested in having a say on the scheme has until Friday, May 10 to do so.
