Almost 50 more bank branches to close from January

  • Lloyds Banking Group has announced the closure of a further 49 bank branches across its Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland brands.
  • These closures are scheduled to take place between January and October 2026, with all affected employees being offered new positions within the company.
  • The decision reflects a continuing shift towards digital banking services, with the group noting that over 21 million customers now use their apps.
