Almond Valley Heritage Centre welcomed some new arrivals this week

A West Lothian heritage centre welcomed a few new pals to their flock this week.

Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston announced online on Tuesday they had hatched two little ducklings and a rare goose.

They showed off the tiny creatures taking a swim on their social media channels.

A spokesperson said: “We have recently hatched out a couple of ducklings and a rare breed Shetland goose.

“Today they went for their first short swim!

“The saying “like a duck to water” is explained right here! This is the first time they have been in water that they can’t stand up in, and look at them go!”

Due to restrictions easing Almond Valley are currently welcoming visitors from throughout the UK.

Most outdoor features, such as the farm and playspaces are open, but safety measures may limit some activities and restricted access is available to the museum and some other indoor spaces.
