Ally McCoist takes Celtic Kyogo Furuhashi dig as he makes cheeky Rangers 'back pocket' claim

Beaming Ally McCoist couldn't resist winding up Chris Sutton over the praise he has given to Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Japan cap has burst onto the scene in the Scottish Premiership, but struggled to make his mark for Ange Postecoglou's side against Rangers.

Parkhead hero Sutton had been talking up the attacker going into derby day, and McCoist was delighted to see Leon Balogun keep him quiet at Ibrox.

McCoist couldn't resists a swipe at comments made by Sutton, telling BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra: "The last words that were echoing in my mind were ' Kyogo Furuhashi was going to to run riot in the wide areas'.

"I have to inform you the big chap Balogun had that fella in his back pocket the entire 90 minutes.

"He did look a bit better when he went through the middle, but come on, the big fella had him in his sky rocket."

However, Sutton wasn't having any of it.

Filip Helander 's header was the difference in the latest clash between the Glasgow heavyweights, but insists Steven Gerrard's side will be concerned about their rivals.

He told McCoist: "What game were you watching? Celtic were playing the beautiful game, and for Rangers it was just a fortunate set piece goal.

"You're worried about Celtic, they are coming. It's just one game, and you have seen the Celtic juggernaut now."
