Ally McCoist slaughters Hibs 'bampots' as Rangers legend makes Borna Barisic brain damage claim

Rangers legend Ally McCoist insists Borna Barisic could have been left with brain damage if the glass bottle aimed at him hit his head.

The Croatian left back was targeted with a vodka bottle as he lay injured during Rangers 3-0 win over Hibs.

The bottle came from a section of the Hibs support which has been caught up in a series of incidents over the last year.

Scott Sinclair was targeted with a buckfast bottle from the same area while a supporter confronted James Tavernier during an incident last season.

And Ibrox hero McCoist didn't hold back as he slaughtered those involved in the incident and didn't hold back when discussing the incident.

On BT Sport, he said: "What if that lands of Barisic's head? He could end up in hospital.

"He could end up with stitches, brain damage, anything.

"It just defies logic some of these idiots. Complete and utter bampots."

"They are spoiling our game, it's shocking. Something has to be done because it is appalling.

"It's incidents like this that make us a complete embarrassment across the world."

Kenny Miller was also on the BT Sport panel and was in full agreement with McCoist and insists Barisic was lucky to escape serious injury.

He said: "Something has to be done. Listen, we are spending too much time talking about this.

"What the pictures don't show is how high that bottle comes from.

"Like Ally says if that lands on Barisic anywhere on his body it could have been serious damage."
