Ally McCoist slams Rangers Five John Kennedy blast as he tells Celtic boss 'it's not your business'

Raging Ally McCoist has warned John Kennedy to mind his own business after comments on the Rangers Covid Five case.

The interim Celtic boss took aim at his Ibrox counterpart Steven Gerrard for defending lockdown rule breaker Nathan Patterson and calling him to get off lightly because he’s a Scotland prospect

Kennedy was also fuming after the appeal against the six-game bans handed out will now be heard after next weekend’s derby Scottish Cup showdown.

However, McCoist insists the stand-in gaffer should keep his focus on events in Glasgow east end rather than on his neighbours.

The Rangers icon noted that Gerrard didn't comment on the ban handed to Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli earlier in the Premiership campaign.

He told BT's Scottish Football Extra: "With the greatest of respect to John, it's not John's business really.

"I mean did you hear Steven Gerrard getting involved in Bolingoli's antics when he was flying all over western Europe? I mean Steven never got involved in that, what's that all about?

"Concern yourself with your own affairs and things that can affect you, and things that you can control."

When pushed by fellow pundit Chris Sutton on why Patterson should be treated differently, McCoist pointed to incidents eight Aberdeen players near the start of the campaign and Bolingoli once again.

He continued: "Steven didn't comment on the Aberdeen 14, or Bolingoli, he just got on with it."
