Ally McCoist says Rangers fan who threw bottle during Leverkusen match makes him sick

Ally McCoist has spoken of his disgust after a bottle was thrown at Bayer Leverkusen players during tonight's Europa League defeat.

After the away side took a 3-1 lead at Ibrox, Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby was seen holding a bottle that had been thrown in his direction by a Rangers fan.

Club legend McCoist was furious as he watched footage, and he was joined in his condemnation by Chris Sutton.

Speaking on BT Sport, McCoist said: “It makes me sick mate, to be quite honest with you.

“It really makes me sick. I mean, what lunatic does that?

“We’ve seen it before and we criticise it. We keep saying come on, we’ve got to do better, we’ve got to move on, but things like that are pathetic.”

Sutton said: “It’s not a Rangers fan who’s thrown that bottle on, because if it’s a fan who loves the club, why would he do that?

“Because all it’s going to do is cause the club a problem. It’s just idiocy isn’t it. I mean, what’s he thinking of? It’s a game of football.”

“It’s madness, absolute madness” added McCoist.
