Ally McCoist's Rangers reaction as Alfredo Morelos matches his European goal record

Alan Stubbs has revealed how Ally McCoist reacted to Alfredo Morelos equalling his European goalscoring record - even if viewers couldn't see it.

The striker scored the winner for Rangers against Lech Poznan to take him to 21 continental goals for the club.

That put him level with McCoist for European strikes, with at least four more ties in store to break the record.

And after the final whistle Rangers' all-time top goalscorer was more than happy to congratulate El Bufalo.

McCoist said on BT Sport: "I'll tell you what's worth a mention - the fella there who scored the winning goal.

"Congratulations to him."

And Stubbs couldn't help having a little dig at his fellow pundit when asked if McCoist had celebrated the strike.

The former Celtic man said: "He certainly did.

"Believe me, behind the mask the camera went to there was a smile too!"

The result leaves Rangers level with Benfica at the top of the group with six points from six.

They face the Portuguese giants in a double-header over the next two fixtures.
