Ally McCoist's gushing Rangers tangent fails to escape Chris Sutton but Celtic hero met with rapid comeback

Chris Sutton jokingly goaded BT colleague Ally McCoist over an apparent tendency to always bring the conversation back to his beloved Rangers.

The pair were discussing Hamilton Accies' recent struggles when the Ibrox icon drifted ever so slightly towards his favourites.

The Premiership's bottom side copped an 8-0 thumping when they met Steven Gerrard's league leaders earlier this month.

But Celtic legend Sutton wasn't for allowing his mate to keep the focus on Rangers.

McCoist said on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra : "When I saw them at Ibrox, I thought Rangers could've scored every time they went up the park.

"I thought 'dear me, they're in big trouble'."

He was quickly cut off by Sutton, who interjected: "You always go back to Rangers, don't you? We're not talking about Rangers!"

McCoist replied: "You can never talk too much about Rangers, Chris!"

Sutton then turned his attention to McCoist's allegedly "wonky" eyewear.

He said: "Put your glasses on straight, your glasses are wonky!"

But McCoist quipped back, leaving his colleague in stitches: "My glasses are fine, it's my head that's bent!"
