Ally McCoist's Celtic arrogance claim challenged by Chris Sutton but Rangers hero sits ready with FIVE examples

Chris Sutton and Ally McCoist clashed on-air over the Rangers legend accusing Celtic of displaying arrogance in their pursuit of 10 In A Row.

Boss Neil Lennon resigned earlier this week with the club's pursuit of a historic decade of dominance lying in ruins.

Rangers sit 18 points clear of their rivals in the Premiership table and McCoist has alleged some at the club treated the fabled feat as a mere formality.

However, on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra, Parkhead legend and Record Sport columnist Sutton disputed that narrative, challenging his punditry pal to produce some evidence.

And McCoist quickly fired back with five examples he reckons proves there's been complacency at Celtic.

Here's how their exchange unfolded.

McCoist: "Let's not be influenced by these idiots outside Celtic Park throwing things at the buses.

"There are thousands and thousands of good Celtic supporters, but there was a lot of people took it for granted in an arrogant way that Celtic were going to just step up and go to 10 In A Row."

Sutton: "But what do you mean by that Ally? Give us an example because I'm not sure that's necessarily true that people think that."

McCoist: "I'll tell you straight away. If you're serious about 10 In A Row - you go and get John McGinn, you keep Fraser Forster, you keep Craig Gordon, you don't go to Dubai, you do things right by Covid. All of those things, every one of them."

Sutton: "Celtic aren't the only club to make mistakes in terms of Covid, are they?"

McCoist: "Celtic are one of only two clubs going for 10 In A Row. And I think there's only one of them completely focused on the job. Surely you can't deny, Chris, some of the performances and the goings-on at Celtic Park have been bordering on shambolic."

Sutton: "Yep... from the start of the season; bringing players in, players not being fit enough, there's been a lack of discipline, players wanting away. This is on Neil's watch and he has to carry the can."
