Ally McCoist reveals Roy Keane's euphoric Scotland celebration as Manchester United icon shows softer side

Delirious Ally McCoist has revealed football hardman Roy Keane was overcome with emotion as he watched Scotland end 23 years of hurt and reach Euro 2020.

The star pundits watched the high drama against Serbia inside Wembley after England's 3-0 win over Republic of Ireland.

Manchester United icon Keane is notoriously difficult to please but McCoist admits the pair, alongside a host of other ex-pros, were lapping up Steve Clarke's side as they watched live footage from Belgrade.

The Rangers icon admits the incredible moment in the strangest of venues will live with him for a lifetime as he told Chris Sutton and Darrell Currie about his extra special experience.

Speaking on BT Sport Extra, he said: "It was just phenomenal from start to finish boys.

"I've got to tell you, I watched the most bizarre game, in the most bizarre surroundings to see us qualify.

"I need to tell you. I sat and watched the penalties with Lee Dixon, Ian Dowie, Ian Wright and Roy Keane.

"I'm not kidding you, when Marsh saved that winning penalty, I've got to say, the whole place erupted.

"To see the joy in the faces of those boys, they were so happy for us and genuinely mean that, they were all so happy for us.

"It was just brilliant, we were all hugging, with our masks on I have to tell you.

"I will never forget it, never forget it, it was magic, what a night."
