Rangers legend Ally McCoist has revealed that a Southampton scout was at Rangers ' clash with Hamilton at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard 's side were terrific as they crashed eight goals past hapless Hamilton in a performance that was sure to leave anyone watching impressed.
Ralph Hasenhuttl's side have been one of the surprise packages of the English top flight so far in what has been a topsy-turvy start to the season in England with several shock results.
Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson spent four years at the South coast club before moving to Ibrox in October last year.
And in a discussion on talkSPORT, the former striker revealed that he was speaking to a talent spotter from the Premier League club as he took in the game.
He said: "I was at the Rangers game yesterday and I was actually chatting to a lad behind me who was one of Southampton's scouts.
"As you would expect, he was singing the praises of the manger like no idea.
"And it was along the lines of all the players love their football and love the training and it's a great place to be.
"When you think where they were just over a year ago when they lost to Leicester City, what a transformation."
