Ally McCoist leaves Chris Sutton in stitches as Rangers legend goes on hilarious Michael Collins tangent

They're one of the best double acts in Scottish football and Ally McCoist produced one of his finest TV moments on Friday night.

The Rangers legend was on BT Sport along with host Darrell Currie and Celtic hero Chris Sutton and the three of them regularly have a laugh on it.

But McCoist's tangent about the third astronaut on the mission to land on the moon has ended up with one of the funniest moments on the show.

It was such a tangent during the quiz that Sutton - despite being 3-1 up - insisted McCoist should win because he left him in tears of laughter.

Sutton's question was about who the second man on the moon was and after a bit of deliberation, got it right with Buzz Aldrin.

And that's where the former Ibrox striker got in on the act with his knowledge of the moon landings as he gave an insight into the third man on the mission, who never got out of the capsule.

During the brilliant tangent, McCoist said: “Can you tell me the third man that never got out of the capsule?

“His name was Michael Collins. He was the third man.

“Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. I mean, imagine going to the moon and not getting out fo the capsule.

“What are you thinking about Michael? If you’re thinking ‘I’ll be back next year’, get out and have a walk on the moon man.

“Honestly, what’s he thinking about?

“All the way back to earth he must have been thinking ‘I should have went out there and had a wee walk on the moon, what was I thinking about there?’

“Imagine going into the pacific. SPLASH. The capsule goes into the pacific, the US Navy pick him up and ask is everyone okay.

“‘Aye but I wish I went on the moon, I was up there and I just stayed in the capsule’.

“You’d have been like that ‘haul Neil, get back in here and look after the capsule I want a wee walk on the moon for five minutes’.

“Neil would have done that. That’s what pals do, that’s what astronaut pals do.”
