Ally McCoist in Rangers hysterics over awkward Postecoglou and Beale press conference as he drops 'act happy' advice

Rangers hero Ally McCoist couldn't help but laugh when discussing the awkward press conference exchange between Ange Postecoglou and Michael Beale.

The Celtic and Rangers boss shared the stage ahead of the Viaplay Cup final as they ramped up their pre-match preparations ahead with their final press conference before Sunday's showpiece at Hampden. With both bosses aiming to lift the Scottish Premiership title there has been verbal exchange through the media already after Beale branded the Australian "lucky" due to the funds he has at his disposal at Celtic, with Postecoglou responding to his counterpart, admitting he's fortunate to be at the Parkhead club.

That only added to the tense pre-match interaction as the pair sat next to each other before the Celtic boss stepped away and allowed Beale to lead his own press conference. Former Rangers players and boss McCoist couldn't hold back his laughter on the talkSPORT Breakfast when discussing the snap - but admitted he was glad he didn't have to endure a pre-match moment like that alongside Neil Lennon.

Discussing the awkward snap with fellow talkSPORT host Jim White, McCoist burst out laughing asking: 'Who came up with that? And if you are going to do it, act happy."

White said: 'It's as if they are sitting on a bus in Glasgow city centre. And that they have never met each other."

With boxer Conor Benn being another talking point of the day, after his failed drugs test was put down to a "highly-elevated consumption of eggs", that sparked the one-liner from McCoist: 'It's as if one of them has had too many of Conor Benn's eggs."

White laughed: "That's right. It was if I am not speaking to him and he is not speaking to me. Would you have sat alongside the likes of Neil Lennon?" McCoist added: "After a game, yes. I would fear for my own safety sitting with him before it."
