Ally McCoist in hysterics over Rangers Ballon D'Or jibe as he gets serious over ultimate career achievement

Legendary Rangers striker Ally McCoist has revealed the one thing he's proudest of in his career - and it's not what you might think.

The radio pundit is the top scorer in the Ibrox club's history with 355 goals, won 20 major trophies and secured the European Golden Boot twice.

But it's the length of time he managed to operate at the top that he reckons beats the lot when he looks back on what he achieved.

McCoist started out as a 16-year-old at St Johnstone before ending his career at Kilmarnock just a year shy of his 40th birthday.

The pundit was quizzed by talkSPORT host Laura Woods about what moment he holds dearest as she began to list off his accomplishments.

A laughing McCoist stopped her as she listed his 21st place spot in the Ballon D'Or for the worlds best player and said: "I love it. They think 'we will pay him anther wee compliment here' then bang, in it comes (the insult).

"21st in the Ballon D'Or ... I can handle it.

"To be honest, gospel truth, probably proud of the longevity of the career to be honest with you - to be a professional for the best part of 22 years.

"I loved every minute of it. I was fortunate that I signed pro when I was 16 and I played until I was 39 and it was absolutely fantastic."
