Ally McCoist reckons Craig Gordon is still good enough to be between the posts for Celtic as he tipped the goalkeeper for a Scotland recall.
The veteran returned to Hearts over the summer after rejecting a new deal at Parkhead on significantly reduced terms.
Summer signing Vasilis Barkas has had a difficult start to his Celtic career, and McCoist reckons Gordon is still good enough to be playing for the champions.
The Rangers legend said on Premier Sports: "Listen, he's a top class goalkeeper.
"In my opinion I think he's probably still good enough to be playing for Celtic - and potentially Scotland.
"He's been a great servant to every club that he's played for, and indeed the country, throughout his career.
"Bags of experience and - you don't want to put the kiss of death on anybody - but generally his handling is very, very good.
"The real positive is that he imposes on his area and he gives the defenders in front of him a real confidence, they know they've got a really solid goalkeeper behind them."
