Ally McCoist in brutal Rangers defence assessment as he blasts 'all over the place' Europa League showing

Raging Ally McCoist has slammed the Rangers defensive display in their Europa League defeat to Sparta Prague.

The Ibrox side - who had Glen Kamara sent off - face an uphill battle to reach the Europa League knockout stage after their 1-0 loss to the Czech side.

David Hancko’s header just crossed the line before Allan McGregor clawed it away before Kamara saw red for a second bookable offence in the second half.

It could have been more with the hosts missing a string of chances at the start of the second half, including a shot off the crossbar, and Calvin Bassey struggling as he filled in for Connor Goldson at centre-back.

Rangers legend McCoist didn't hold back on Steven Gerrard 's side, insisting they were lucky to keep the margin of defeat at just one.

McCoist told BT Sport: "Listen, I thought the first 15-20 minutes of the second half Rangers were absolutely all over the place.

"They didn't have a back four line at all. (Leon) Balogun was going in, Bassey was holding back, (James) Tavernier didn't know if he was sitting in.

"They should have had added to their tally, there is no doubt about it. The one off the post looked an absolute certainty.

"I don't think Rangers defending well throughout the 90 minutes, but for the first 15 to 20 minutes they were all over the place."
