Ally McCoist in Alfredo Morelos Rangers transfer forecast as club icon makes price tag confession

Rangers legend Ally McCoist believes his former club will cash in on Alfredo Morelos if the money is right.

The Colombian is understood to be a target for Lille, with reports in France stating that they've already agreed in principle on a four-year contract.

So far no bid has been accepted by Rangers, but McCoist doesn't think Morelos is unsellable.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "If Neil Lennon's saying every Celtic player's got a price on his head then I think it's safe to say every player in Scotland has.

" Morelos has been excellent - EXCELLENT - in terms of his goal return for Rangers, particularly in Europe last year. Some of his goals were wonderful.

"Still hasn't scored against Celtic which is a big question mark, because I still think Old Firm centre-forwards have got to score against each other, I think it's very important to do that.

"He's clearly a very, very talented player and will score goals.

"I think Steven (Gerrard) will accept an offer if it's the correct offer, I really do.

"I don't know, I haven't spoken to him. I think Jermain Defoe's got a hamstring injury as well, so you have to get cover in. He'll obviously have that earmarked on the off-chance - or maybe bigger chance - that he (Morelos) might leave the club and go to Lille.

"I think he's one of these players that he has set his heart on a move.

"I think he eventually wants to play in the Premier League, and I think he could probably do that.

"I definitely think if Rangers get an offer they find acceptable he will be on his way."

McCoist also expanded on what he thinks his former club will deem an acceptable offer.

The former Ibrox manager said: "I am so out of touch with transfer fees I just shake my head and throw my hands up in the air, but clearly double figures I would think.

"Reports are talking about £20million, I think if they got an offer of maybe £12-13million they'd accept it. But I genuinely don't know.

"He's certainly scored goals and he will score goals wherever he goes - but he has got a question against his temperament.

"His disciplinary record hasn't been good, he's let himself, Steven and his team-mates down on one or two occasions.

"It has got better, it has to be said, but still not perfect.

"I think Steven will have another couple of forwards in mind if the move goes ahead."
