Ally McCoist revealed his hilarious exchange with Parkhead security after the Rangers legend was “welcomed with open arms” at the home of his former rivals.
The BT Sport pundit enjoyed a bit of banter with Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton after the Celtic hero was denied access to Ibrox on Europa League Matchday One.
That came amid security fears with Sutton and ex-team-mate Neil Lennon pulled from the punditry team at the eleventh hour.
However, there were no such issues on Thursday night as McCoist and fellow former Ger Derek McInnes worked from a studio at Parkhead for analysis of Steven Gerrard’s side’s game against Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic.
The smooth production operation was in contrast to last month’s controversial last-minute change forced upon broadcaster BT Sport.
And ahead of the Scottish Football Extra show it provided a bit of humour with McCoist coming out on top with his trademark razor-sharp.
Host Darrell Currie asked Sutton if he was frustrated and angry following Celtic’s 4-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
And the Englishman said: “Yes, with the Celtic performance but I’ve been quite positive because I have been allowed into three football grounds this last week.

“I heard though that, Ally, you had a bit of complication getting into Paradise?”
That teed McCoist up who said: “Absolutely Christopher no complication at all. I was welcomed there as normal with open arms.
“There was a little bit of patter at the car park. On my way in two security lads said ‘At least we’re letting you in McCoist’. One of those lines. And they were laughing.
“And I said ‘So you should lads’. And they asked ‘Why’s that?’ And I said ‘Because I’m actually fifth top scorer at this stadium!”.
