Rangers fan Tom Staltman has been declared the World's Strongest Man — and that's got Ally McCoist thinking ahead of Scotland's massive Euro 2020 showdown with Croatia.
The Ibrox goal hero was on co-commentary duties with Clive Tyldesley, the broadcasting veteran who was a regular feature on the Premiership champions' in-house season ticket and pay-per-view matchday offerings last season.
The pair have struck up an enjoyable on-mic bond with viewers enjoying their zingers that brighten up even a drab matchday.
North Macedonia vs the Netherlands was anything but with the Dutch romping to a 3-0 win, completing Group C with a perfect record and looking every bit like one of their glittering squads of old.
But during a lull in proceedings Tyldesley brought up some news from the world of strongman competitions.
McCoist joked that Staltman could be of use against the Croats at Hampden on Tuesday night in which the winner looks set to take a last 16 slot.
And that prompted a refreshingly self-deprecating reply from Tyldesley after Scotland held England to a 0-0 draw at Wembley.
The commentator began: "He was runner up last year, he's from Invergordon, right on the east coast."
"I know where it is, I know fine well where it is," said McCoist
Tyldesley: "Tom Staltman, a big Rangers fan. And he's now officially the World's Strongest Man.
McCoist: "Is he available for tomorrow?
Tyldesley: "No wonder we can't beat you."
