Speaking during TNT Sports' live coverage of the match, McCoist hit out at his old team's transfer strategy: "The recruitment has been appalling," he said.
"It looks like we’ve been signing wee boys. When you sign for Rangers, you need to be a man."
It comes after McCoist also blasted Max Aarons for his red card. The right-back was ordered off within X minutes after bringing down Christos Tzolis.
He said: "What is he thinking about?" said McCoist, live on TNT Sports, immediately after the incident.
"It's a punt up the pitch. I mean, that's embarrassing defending, it's schoolboy defending. Just get goalside of him, and match the run. That is absolutely carcrash material, it really is."
