Rangers legend Ally McCoist reckons the Ibrox club's Europa League display against Brondby was "average" but admits the point from the 1-1 draw could be "invaluable".
Steven Gerrard's men couldn't build on their convincing 6-1 Premiership win over Motherwell to secure an important victory in Group A.
Leon Balogun 's own goal before the end of the first half had Rangers chasing the game before Ianis Hagi levelled in the second half.
Lyon's victory over Sparta Prague confirmed them as group winners but the Ibrox side and Czech pair are level on four points while Brondby have two.
Rangers meet Sparta Prague at the end of this month and a two-goal win would all but seal a Europa League round of 32 spot. and McCoist believes the point in Denmark could prove key.
But it wasn't plain-sailing and he told BT Sport: "I thought the display in the second half was better but overall it was average.
"It would have been a disappointment - bordering on disaster - if they lost this game tonight. Brondby are not a good side and Rangers should be taking something from a game like this.
"It's a very important point in the group for Rangers. They still have a good chance of qualifying from the group in second place.
"That could turn into an invaluable point for Rangers as if they beat Sparta Prague by a better aggregate score, then they qualify from this group.
"Brondby, unless something dramatic happens, won't win their last two games."
