NAGPUR: Riding on an allround performance of Harsh Dubey (66 n.o & 2-24), Vidarbha thrashed Rajasthan by 90 runs in under-25 State-A trophy encounter in Rajkot on Wednesday.
Vidarbha batters did well to post 268 for 7 on the board. Later, they restricted Rajasthan to 178 all out in 43.3 overs.
Put into bat, all key Vidarbha batters got runs but none could stretch it past the 50-run mark barring Harsh Dubey. Batting at No.6, left-hander Harsh made 66 not out in 52 balls that included 6 boundaries and a couple of sixes.
When Vidarbha were 165 for 5, another southpaw Yash Kadam joined hands with Harsh and they added 94 runs in just 85 balls to give much-needed lift to Vidarbha. Harsh contributed 57 in the partnership, while attacking batter Kadam made 37 before he got out.
Earlier, the opening pair of Aniruddha Choudhari (37) and Aman Mokhade (42) were involved in a 55-run stand. Then, No.3 Yash Rathod (37) and Aman added 66 for the second wicket.
While defending, Harsh (7.3-0-24-2) was the most economical bowler. Pacer Praful Hinge (3-51) and skipper Mandar Mahale (2-17) were the other wicket takers.
