A Black Country manufacturer of high-performance alloys has completed a £100,000 investment in a new testing room at its factory.
Alloy Wire International, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, has designed and equipped the facility with new testers, four lab furnaces to support heat treatment and imaging technology to help with the preparation of materials.
This project means the Brierley Hill-based company can now do much of the sub-contract testing in-house, shortening lead times for customers and giving it the opportunity to test new processes and materials quickly.
Technical director Andrew Du Plessis said: "We were increasingly asked for more testing as our customers strive for exacting performance from the materials they purchase.
"The decision was taken as part of an overall commitment to improve our service and the range of testing we can deliver in-house.
"This will significantly boost our R&D activity so we can continue to bring new materials and services to market."
