HYDERABAD: Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy has urged chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to allot land for various development projects near railway stations in and around Hyderabad.
He said the Centre is developing Cherlapally and Nagulapally stations to relieve passenger congestion at Secunderabad, Nampally, and Kacheguda. He urged the state government to intervene and provide land for free.
In a letter to the CM on Wednesday, Kishan Reddy said plans are afoot to have a new terminal at Cherlapally operational by March next. Senior railway officials in collaboration with state government officials discussed connectivity to the new terminal.
Kishan Reddy also urged the CM to allot 4.61 acres of land for development of a 100-ft road from the FCI godown to the new terminal at Cherlapally station. He said land should be alienated in order to expand the existing approach road on Bharat Nagar side to a 60-ft road.
