Allianz National Football League Division Four preview: Leitrim have an outside chance at Croke Park glory

The Leitrim senior footballers grace Croke Park for just the fifth time ever today with Derry their opponents, just as they were back in 1959 when they made their debut at GAA headquarters in a League semi-final.

In the interim, there were losses to Dublin in the 1994 All-Ireland semi-final and a regular League game against them the following year as well as to Louth in the 2006 Tommy Murphy Cup final.
Leitrim diaspora gear up for big day out at Croke Park as hundreds travel from US
Strip away the romance, have Leitrim a chance here? Yes, but it’s an outside one. Derry aren’t Division Four standard and they’ll likely prove it today.

VERDICT: Derry
