Allerton Road restaurant closes suddenly for several weeks

A south Liverpool restaurant has closed for a major refurbishment and is expected to be shut until late spring.

109 Allerton, on Allerton Road , closed its doors for what it's calling a “major refurbishment” on January 6, giving customers just a few days' notice.

The news was shared to Facebook by the team behind the restaurant on January 3, in a post which read: “Thank you for all your support since we took over in March 2019.

“Today we can announce that we will be closing on Monday 6th January for a major refurbishment.

“We will be expanding to the first floor and redesigning our ground floor layout, bringing you more tables and an even better dining experience.”

The post also encouraged customers to use any vouchers for the restaurant ahead of the closure.

The restaurant’s website confirmed the news that 109 Allerton would close for refurbishment, though no future reopening date has been set.

109 Allerton confirmed it expects to reopen in the late spring after one customer asked in the comments on the restaurant's Facebook post.

The restaurant was taken over in March 2019 by a new team and quickly became Liverpool’s number one restaurant on TripAdvisor , keeping the top spot for several months.
