Allen Robinson wants to be Bears’ all-time leading receiver

Allen Robinson wants to be a Chicago Bear for a long time, which is great news for the Bears.

With one season left on his three-year deal, the Bears are likely aiming to extend Robinson in the offseason to keep him in Chicago long-term, which he certainly wants to get done.

“Yeah, definitely,” he said. “There’s a lot that goes into it… but as far as how comfortable I am here and how much I like it here, I definitely would foresee spending many more years here.”

Keeping Robinson in Chicago should be a priority for the Bears. He’s just 26, healthy and proving that, even in a struggling offense, he’s one of the best in the game. Robinson has 76 catches for 898 yards and seven touchdowns this season — and that’s with unsteady quarterback play.

While the Bears aren’t known for a plethora of great receivers, Robinson has been their best wideout since arguably Brandon Marshall in 2012. Robinson has proven he’s a legitimate No. 1 receiver, and he’s thriving in Matt Nagy’s offense, where his diverse skillset is being utilized.

Robinson’s goal is to be the best wideout in the Bears’ storied 100-year history.

“I would love to be the Bears’ all-time leading receiver,” he said. “With the longevity of the organization and players who have come before here, goals like that are big. Being the all-time leading receiver for a franchise like the Chicago Bears is special.

“I’ve really enjoyed my two years. We’ve won a lot of games. From an organization standpoint, it’s a top-flight organization and coaching staff.”

If Robinson wants to be the team’s best receiver ever, the Bears need to make sure he remains in Chicago.
