Alleged senior gang member arrested at Canberra worksite after drug raids

An accused senior member of the Comancheros bikie gang faces serious charges after raids on homes in Canberra and New South Wales, which saw more than $150,000 in drugs seized.

Khaled Khoder, 27, was arrested at his workplace after police found a variety of drugs during the raids, which included his own home.

Today he was formally charged in the ACT Magistrates Court with eight counts of drug trafficking.

Police said 300 grams of methylamphetamine was found during the raids, along with 30 grams of cocaine and 30 grams of MDMA.

Police estimated the value of the drugs to be $154,000.

Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said the arrest was a combined effort between ACT Policing, the national gangs squad, national canine operations and the New South Wales Police.

He said further arrests could not be ruled out.

"This investigation is active and ongoing and I expect there will be further charges," he said.

"Our intelligence shows this network was not only based in Canberra but stretched into New South Wales as well."

Mr Khoder did not apply for bail and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in June.
