Alleged roadside stabbing victim dies in Adelaide hospital

An alleged road rage victim who was hospitalised after an incident in Adelaide's north on Saturday has died in hospital.

Troy McLean, 34, had tried to drive himself to the Lyell McEwin Hospital after allegedly being stabbed by Benjamin George, 25, but crashed into a parked car on the way.

He was transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition but died of his injuries this morning.

Mr George was charged with attempted murder and appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday but is yet to enter a plea.

Those charges are expected to be upgraded to murder with police now declaring Mr McLean's death a major crime.

Police have alleged the two men were driving in separate cars along Waterloo Corner road when an altercation happened at the Salisbury Highway intersection.

Mr George has been remanded in custody and has made no application for bail.
