A man accused of committing a daylight murder in Queanbeyan will stand trial after a court heard he would soon formally plead not guilty.
Alan William Delaney, 52, appeared in Queanbeyan Local Court via audio-visual link from the maximum security area of Parklea Correctional Centre on Tuesday morning.
He listened in as a prosecutor withdrew charges of manslaughter and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Mr Delaney's lawyer, Kim Bolas, successfully requested the man be committed for trial, saying he would be fighting a murder charge.
The 52-year-old has been behind bars on remand ever since he was arrested at his Queanbeyan home on December 27, 2019.

He is alleged to have killed Aaron Baxter, 46, with a flurry of punches a day earlier in Trinculo Place.
Police have previously said they found the victim "semi-conscious" under the Queens Bridge about 9.30am on the day in question.
Paramedics treated Mr Baxter at the scene before taking him to Queanbeyan District Hospital, where he later died.
Mr Delaney is now due to appear in the NSW Supreme Court in Sydney for an arraignment, during which he will enter his plea, on September 3.
