The man accused of murdering his housemate and trying to kill two other people in suburban Belconnen last month remains under armed guard in hospital almost three weeks after the incident.
Wajid Kakar, 35, did not appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday morning when his case was briefly mentioned.
A Legal Aid lawyer represented the Afghan national as prosecutor Keegan Lee told the court: "The defendant is still in The Canberra Hospital receiving treatment."
Magistrate Beth Campbell continued Mr Kakar's remand in custody until the case returns to court on April 6.
Police arrested Mr Kakar at his home in Page on February 20 after he allegedly murdered his 34-year-old housemate Michael Williams.
He is also charged with attempting to murder a 28-year-old male housemate and a 20-year-old woman, who was visiting the Braine Street share house, that same morning.
It is alleged that he used at least two knives to inflict "significant" stab wounds on each of the victims.
Mr Kakar has not entered any pleas.
Police have previously said they were forced upon arrival at the crime scene to Taser the 35-year-old, who was also badly injured in the bloody incident, after he allegedly "rushed" at officers with a weapon.
Detective Superintendent Scott Moller has said his investigators are "working through issues of motive".
