A teenager accused of terrorism offences will remain in custody following a court mention in regional NSW.
The matter of Tyler Jakovac, 18, was mentioned briefly in Albury Local Court on Thursday.
He is charged with urging violence against groups and advocating a terrorist act or commission of terrorism offence.
Jakovac did not apply for bail and his lawyer Mark Rosalky asked that he receive mental health treatment while in custody.
Commonwealth prosecutors were involved in the matter which has been adjourned to Parramatta on February 26.
The magistrate prefers terrorism cases be heard at Parramatta.
The 18-year-old was arrested at his Albury home on Wednesday.
Shortly after his arrest, police said they had been monitoring Jakovac since August but a recent escalation in activity prompted investigators to intervene, AFP Assistant Commissioner Scott Lee said on Wednesday.
His communications on various social media platforms, most of which were mainstream, allegedly turned to support for a mass casualty event.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Walton has alleged the man was against "almost anyone who didn't look like him".
If convicted, the man could face 12 years in jail.
