Alleged firearm shot at teenager and woman in Ayrshire street

Police are carrying out enquiries after an alleged firearm was shot at a teenager and a woman in the early hours of this morning.

Officers have confirmed that they were called to an incident at Hawthorn Crescent in Beith, North Ayrshire in the early hours of today.

But officials have confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident.

Investigations are now underway to establish what happened during the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of an alleged firearm being discharged towards a 53-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man on Hawthorn Crescent, Beith.

"The incident happened around 1.15am on Thursday, December 3.


"Nobody was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
