Alleged burglar gets stuck in hotel roof

Queensland police have helped free an alleged burglar who got stuck in a hotel's roof. (AAP)

A 30-year-old man has become stuck in a roof for hours after allegedly trying to break into a Queensland hotel.

Police were alerted by staff who heard noises inside the rear toilet block of the licensed premises at Landsborough about 6am on Wednesday.

Officers found the man stuck in the roof cavity where he had been trapped for several hours.

He was helped down and arrested.

Police allege he got into another room of the hotel via the roof, damaging equipment and roof sheeting.

The 30-year-old from North Booval has been charged with break and enter, and is due to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday.
