Allan Saint-Maximin's brother dismisses transfer talk but admits Champions League goal

Allan Saint-Maximin has not discussed a potential transfer to Napoli but one day hopes to play in the Champions League.

That's according to the Newcastle United forward's brother Kurtys, who has addressed the 23-year-old's future.

Saint-Maximin has quickly established himself as a talisman for the Magpies since his summer move from Nice through his actions on the pitch and his interactions on social media.

However, the French forward's blistering form since lockdown has prompted speculation over his long-term future at St James' Park.

Saint-Maximin signed a six-year deal upon his arrival on Tyneside, and head coach Steve Bruce insists there is "no chance" of the Frenchman leaving United in the next window.

Arsenal were reportedly one of those monitoring the former Nice forward, although a recent report from the Athletic claims Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is not preparing a move for the Magpies star.

Serie A giants Napoli were another club linked with Saint-Maximin, with claims the in-form attacker is eyeing an improved contract after an impressive start with United.

However, Saint-Maximin's brother Kurtys has played down talk of any contact between Napoli and the Magpies over a transfer, and stressed "it is too early to talk" about his future.

He told Italian site CalcioNapoli : “The Blues are a good team, but I have never talked to them about a possible transfer of Allan Saint-Maximin. Even in the past there have been no contacts.

“If he likes the Neapolitan team? Of course he likes Naples, it is a great club like Juventus, Inter and Milan are in Italy as well.

“I still don’t know his future, it is too early to talk about it but surely he will want to play as a starting player and participate in the Champions League.”
