Allan Saint-Maximin responds to fan's angry tweet over social media post of training ground goal

Allan Saint-Maximin has not shied away from fans' frustrations in the wake of a 5-0 thumping off Leicester City.

The forward was on the bench for the game and didn't make it onto the pitch as he watched his new side collapse at The King Power Stadium.

Fans were understandably irate at the performance. Some confronted Jamaal Lascelles after the game, while others took to social media to vent their frustrations.

Saint-Maximin, despite not playing, did not escape some of the anger, with some responding to a Twitter post of him scoring a goal in training.

He accompanied the post with #FeelingGood which riled one supporter.

Zak Atkinson took particular issue with the hashtag posting: "We have just been thumped 5-0 and you're feeling good because you've scored a half decent goal in training? Put some actual hard work in and start doing it on a Sunday.'

Fans defended Saint-Maximin and the former Nice man himself responded to tweet with: "I mean that my physical condition is getting better - take it easy."

The response to the video was mixed - some applauding the goal, and happy to see Saint-Maximin looking full fit but others highlighted how he managed to walk through the defence with ease, a lot like Ricardo did was Leicester City's first goal.

Saint-Maximin may make only his second start for Newcastle this Sunday against Manchester United at St James' Park.
